Our client, a global professional services firm, made the decision to extend their International Tax operations in Indonesia. They wanted to hire an experienced International Tax Partner who had the ability to drive business growth and who had the specialised skills and extensive industry expertise to deal with unique challenges of appropriate to the local market.

Challenge

This was a very challenging brief. We had to identify individuals who have a good appreciation of both international exposure and excellent local knowledge who could deliver business growth and revenue. Using our unrivalled market knowledge and global network we designed a search programme to identify the most suitable individuals for this role and presented to the client.

We had to find someone who would enjoy working in the emerging market and who would be up for relocating to Indonesia. On the practical side of the move we also needed to factor in the challenge associated with the family move.

Using these criteria, our team targeted a select number of International Tax expertise who could integrate and thrive in the emerging market and through careful and discreet discussions with our client we presented a with a shortlist of selected professionals.

One candidate stood out. A high-profile International Tax partner based in one of the key hubs in Europe with extensive specialist knowledge and extensive experience in building Tax business across different jurisdictions.

Result

Over the course of several months we conducted a number of high-profile discussions with key stakeholders of the business and after successful negotiations the candidate accepted the offer and joined the business. This enabled our client to build its International Tax practice and further drive growth of Tax operation in Indonesia.
